Since June of 1996, Pamela Puryear has been the Hospital Manager at Faithful Friends Animal Hospital. In addition to her years of experience, she attended the Veterinary Management School and is currently studying for certification in veterinary practice management.

“I really like working with my husband to help make our clients’ pets’ lives long, happy and healthy ones,” she says. “I also love the clients and their animals, especially when I get to play with the baby puppies and kittens.”

When she isn’t running our office, Pamela enjoys reading, going to the gym, going on motorcycle rides, sitting on the porch swing and listening to the sounds of life around her. At home, she has a mixed breed named Leroy Brown, Collie named Maria, English Bulldog named Lizzy, and a grey Tabby named Swat.

Deanna Dorer joined our staff as a veterinary technician in August of 2011 and she has been working with animals professionally since 1997. She assists our veterinarians in any way she can to help our clients and their pets, and she always has a positive attitude.

"I enjoy working with the doctors and the other staff members because I learn something new from them everyday," said Deanna. "I enjoy the challenge of learning and doing new things."

Deanna has a cat named Curiosa (who is 17 years old) and a beta fish named Jimmy. Outside of work she loves to spend time with her husband and family, as well as hiking, camping, fishing, geocaching, reading and watching movies.

Lynne Roedema has been a receptionist with Faithful Friends Animal Hospital since 1989. She is a graduate of Miami Dade College and has previously lived at a wolf sanctuary, owned a wolf hybrid and participated in educational programs. Her duties with us include answering all types of pet health questions, setting up appointments, preparing files for incoming clients, and weighing pets.

“The employees and clients are great here, like extended family after 26 years of providing care,” she says of her work. “The pets love coming here and the smiles are the payoff.”

Lynne has two rescued dogs, a Border Collie named Shilo and a Lab named Chance. When asked about her interests, she says, “I live out in the mountains, it’s a three hour daily commute, but I enjoy the deer, bear, coyotes and foxes in my yard. I also like fishing, hiking and photography.”

Receptionist Sydney Jerrard first started working at Faithful Friends Animal Hospital in 2003, and returned in March of 2011 after a brief break. Her father is a retired veterinarian, so she basically has been involved in animal care her entire life.

“Dr. Puryear reminds me a lot of my father when he was a practicing veterinarian,” she says. “His ethics and compassion for what he does is rare. Our clients also make work enjoyable and I have known many of them for years and shared both the good and the bad with them and their pets.”

Her pets include Butter Bean, a Miniature Schnauzer and two cats, one with just three legs and the other with one eye. Sydney’s interests include outdoor activities, travel, cooking, and gardening.
